InfoWars’s Alex Jones charged with DWI

InfoWars host Alex Jones was arrested on suspicion of driving while intoxicated in Texas.

Jones, 46, was booked into the Travis County Jail just after midnight on Tuesday, a spokeswoman for the sheriff’s office told the Washington Examiner.

His bail was set at $3,000 for the misdemeanor charge, and he was released on bond around 4 a.m. local time.

The arrest affidavit said an officer was responding to a domestic disturbance call from a woman who said she and her husband had a verbal argument but that earlier in the day, it “was physical.”

The woman said her husband was leaving the residence in a black Dodge Charger and he was “possibly drinking,” the affidavit said.

The officer located the vehicle, which was going 45 mph in a 40-mph zone, and pulled it over.

“When I made contact with Jones, I detected a strong odor of alcohol coming from his person,” the affidavit said. “While interviewing Jones, he stated he and his wife were out to dinner at a sushi restaurant … Jones stated while eating dinner, he consumed a bottle of Sake wine. Jones stated he and his wife got into an argument while eating dinner and he ended up walking home from the restaurant.”

Once Jones and his wife arrived home, they continued arguing, Jones told the officer.

“Jones then stated he then proceeded to drive to another residence he owns downtown to get away from his wife,” the affidavit said.

Jones’s blood alcohol level was 0.079, just under the legal limit of 0.08%, according to the affidavit.
