Man with a bag of lock picks, bat, and crowbar arrested outside of Taylor Swift’s home

An obsessed fan of pop singer Taylor Swift was arrested outside of her Rhode Island mansion with a backpack allegedly stuffed with burglary tools such as a crowbar, dozens of lock picks, and a glass-cutting tool.

Westerly police approached David Page Liddle, 32, after neighbors of Swift’s beachfront home reported a man in the area behaving suspiciously.

Liddle then told authorities that he knew Swift personally and was simply dropping by to “catch up.” He reportedly said he was an aspiring singer that had received help from Swift.

Police searched Liddle’s backpack after they noticed an aluminum bat sticking out of his bag. The search, which revealed the bag to be full of tools commonly used in burglaries, led to Liddle’s arrest. Security for Swift told police that Liddle was on a list of people they had deemed suspicious, noting that he had been seen near some of Swift’s other homes in Tennessee.

Liddle was still being held as of Wednesday morning and is expected to undergo a mental evaluation. He is being charged with possession of burglary tools and possession of a prohibited weapon other than a firearm.
