Woman crashed into oncoming car to test her faith in God, authorities say

A Pennsylvania woman has had her bail revoked after investigators said she purposely drove into an oncoming car to test her faith.

Nadejda Reilly, 31, was arrested last week and charged with aggravated assault for the crash, which resulted in the hospitalization of two people driving the vehicle she hit, according to the Associated Press.

Investigators said Reilly had been driving around for hours that day waiting to hear from God when she decided to gamble with fate. The crash occurred near Weatherly, Pennsylvania.

“Reilly related God took care of her by not having her injured,” said Trooper Bruce Balliet in an affidavit. “Reilly expressed no concerns or remorse for the victims. Reilly also stated she did not care if the other people were injured because God would have taken care of them.”

She was initially assigned $50,000 bail, but that was later revoked by the judge.

Reilly’s attorney Andrew Theyken Bench declined to comment on the specifics of the case but told the Washington Examiner that in terms of the bail revocation, “The judge wanted to make sure that there was a protection for the community based on the actions and that any help that is available to her will be provided to her.”
