Cheri Bustos to retire from the House: Here’s who is leaving, has left, or is trying to move up in Congress

The 117th Congress was elected on Nov. 3, 2020, and took office on Jan. 3, 2021. Here are the House and Senate members departing from their current offices. Some are retiring, while others are trying to move up in Congress. A handful have died since Election Day 2020. The most recent change came with the announcement Friday that Rep. Cheri Bustos, an Illinois Democrat, will retire from the House after the 2022 elections.
