Glenn Beck said there is no chance that the Republican National Committee could persuade him to become a “shill” for Donald Trump, the GOP’s presumptive nominee.
Beck responded to questions from Fox News about a Washington Examiner report detailing the prospect of a potential rendezvous with RNC Chairman Reince Priebus by insisting little would come from any meeting.
“There’s nothing that anybody can say that should convince anybody one way or another,” Beck told Fox News’ Megyn Kelly on Monday. “This is a personal decision for everybody now and I honestly don’t know what the right thing to do is. I know what I have decided to do. I know what I can do and the only way I can sleep at night, but that might be different for everybody.”
Beck continued to say that he was disappointed the Libertarian Party had nominated Gary Johnson instead of Austin Petersen, because he thought the Libertarians had a “real opportunity to make a case” in 2016. But Beck sounded much more skeptical of Trump’s ability to bring voters who think like Beck into the fold.
“I had a conversation last night with a talk radio giant and we were talking about it and he asked me so what are you going to to do and I said, ‘I’m going to stay the course. I just, that’s who I am,’ ” Beck said. “But we were talking about everyone is being watched right now. And there’s no way to win.”
