A vocal Vince Gray supporter and community activist who landed a $65,000-a-year job in the Gray administration has left after questions were raised about her criminal history.
Cherita Whiting’s 2001 felony conviction was first disclosed by The Washington Times, which over a series of articles raised questions about whether Whiting revealed the conviction to the city.
On Monday, Whiting told The Washington Post that she was leaving her job because she did not want to be a distraction to Gray.
