Two men who have lived on the periphery of President Trump’s political orbit are betting big against each other over whether or not Trump will retain the Oval Office after Tuesday’s election.
Brexit leader Nigel Farage and former Trump attorney Michael Cohen have both reportedly placed a $10,000 bet (10,000 pounds in Farage’s case) on the upcoming election with Farage taking the over.
“It’s a combination of Joe’s likability versus Trump’s divisiveness, ignorance, and arrogance,” Cohen said. “Through his mishandling of a multitude of issues, including COVID-19, Trump has lost the silent majority in the U.S., even some in the Midwest states where he won by double digits in 2016. He will be the loser.”
But Farage, whose sudden rise to power and populist ideology have mirrored Trump’s ascension to the presidency, gushed about the president’s first term during a rally in Arizona this week. Farage called Trump “the single most resilient and bravest person I have ever met in my life.”
“I’m going the other side of Michael Cohen,” Farage said. “I’m going to have 10 grand on Donald Trump to win next Tuesday.”
The two men reportedly placed their bets on the betting site Guesser. In an interview with the website following his bet, Cohen said he would donate the money won to the American Civil Liberties Union.
“I can’t wait for Trump to lose, and as soon as the American public hands him his ass, I’m going to hand over a check for $15,000 to the ACLU,” Cohen said.
