Rep. Devin Nunes: Whistleblower complaint to be transmitted to Congress at 4 p.m. today

The whistleblower complaint that sparked an impeachment inquiry into President Trump will be transmitted to Congress at 4 p.m. Wednesday.

Republican Rep. Devin Nunes told the chamber that the director of national intelligence would provide the House Intelligence Committee with the whistleblower complaint. This comes on the same day that the White House released a transcript of a July 25 call between Trump and Ukrainian President Volodoymyr Zelensky.

The whistleblower, who is yet unnamed, filed a complaint with the intelligence community inspector general in August alleging that Trump urged Zelensky to work with his personal attorney, Rudy Giuliani, to investigate ties that political opponent Joe Biden’s son, Hunter Biden, had with a Ukrainian energy company.

After the Wednesday release of the rough transcript, Trump and his allies said he was cleared of any wrongdoing, but Democrats said they want to continue to investigate the matter. The whistleblower will get the chance to speak to congressional investigators, according to reports.
