Body found floating in Northern California Creek

SANTA CLARA, Calif. (AP) — Authorities are working to identify a man whose body was found floating in the southern end of the San Francisco Bay.

A kayaker discovered the man’s body Saturday morning in the channels of the Coyote Creek near the Alviso Marina in Santa Clara County.

Rescue crews from several agencies including San Jose, Fremont, Alameda and Santa Clara Counties as well as the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service helped recover the body.

Authorities say it is too early to say how long the man’s body has been in the water and if he was a victim of foul play.

The body was taken to the Santa Clara County coroner’s office.
