WESTFIELD, N.Y. (AP) — Authorities say the westbound lanes of the Thruway in southwestern New York have reopened after being shut down when a Thruway Authority truck caught fire.
State police say a Thruway dump truck caught fire late Monday morning on Interstate 90’s westbound side between exits 60 and 61 in the Chautauqua (shuh-TAW’-kwuh) County town of Westfield, 55 miles southwest of Buffalo.
Troopers say no injuries are reported.
Both lanes were closed for about 30 minutes before they were reopened by 1 p.m.
There’s no indication yet on what caused the fire.
It’s the third vehicle fire on the western stretch of I-90 in the past two weeks. A recreational vehicle caught fire two weeks ago in Chautauqua County and a tractor-trailer burned last week at Exit 48A in Genesee County.
