VIDEO: Delivery robot moves through area blocked off by California police

A delivery robot made its way through an area blocked off by police at a Los Angeles high school on Tuesday as officers looked on, video footage shows.

The robot was passing Los Angeles Hollywood High School when it arrived in front of the taped-off area. Though some onlookers expressed concern that it may have been carrying a bomb, a majority were amused by the robot on wheels as it charged through the sectioned-off area, with one person even lifting the tape to let the robot pass, according to Storyful.

“You know we’re all thinking, ‘That’s going to be, like, the easiest way to mug people, with a robot,'” one person was heard joking in the video.

CALIFORNIA TEACHER ARRESTED FOR INSTRUCTING STUDENTS WHILE INTOXICATED

Police blocked off the area after they responded to a report of an assault with a deadly weapon at the school at 10 a.m. However, the incident was a hoax, and Los Angeles Unified School District Superintendent Alberto Carvalho described the incident as “unfounded reports of gun shots fired on campus at Hollywood High School.”

The Los Angeles School Police Department received reports of an active shooter at the school, with six victims down. Police searched the school looking for the victims and any suspects, but LASPD said it found nothing, according to CBS Los Angeles.
