Robert De Niro cheered at Tony Awards for saying ‘f–k Trump’: WATCH

Robert De Niro repeatedly said “fuck Trump” to cheers at the Tony Awards on Sunday.

The actor, known for his roles in “Raging Bull,” “The Goodfellas,” and the “Godfather” series took the stage to introduce a performance by Bruce Springsteen.

“I’m gonna say one thing: Fuck Trump,” De Niro said. “It’s no longer ‘Down with Trump’; it’s ‘Fuck Trump.'”

CBS bleeped out the profanity, but the feed in Australia apparently was not censored.

De Niro has been an outspoken critic of Trump’s. Earlier this year, for instance, he called Trump “fucking idiot” and a “fucking fool” at the National Board of Review’s annual awards gala. He also took on the role of special counsel Robert Mueller grilling Trump’s personal attorney Michael Cohen in multiple skits for “Saturday Night Live” this past season.

The 72nd annual Tony Awards in Radio City Music Hall in New York City got political in a number of other ways Sunday evening.

Actor Andrew Garfield took a shot at the Supreme Court over its recent controversial decision in the Masterpiece same-sex wedding cake case and implored for greater tolerance while accepting a Tony Award for his role as Prior Walter, a gay man with AIDS, in “Angels in America.”

Noma Dumezweni, who stars as Hermione Granger in Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, told Variety that President Trump wasn’t welcome at any of the production’s performances.
