Hillary Clinton is concerned about Donald Trump. She expressed her concern in an interview with Extra’s Mario Lopez.
“I am watching this with some concern because I think a lot of what he has said has been really inflammatory and destructive…He has not put forward any real policies…He has made a lot of claims and I think it may reflect on the Republican side some of the pent up frustration that they have…I’m going to let them deal with however they choose their nominee, but I am certainly looking forward, if he were the nominee, to debating him in the general election because there’s a lot to talk about starting with his really outrageous statements about immigration,” Clinton told Lopez.
Here’s more from the interview, via an Extra press release:
Clinton understanding the important role that social media plays in the election, “I think it’s already proven to be a big factor because that’s how people communicate these days…That’s where they get their news that’s what they find out what their friends are thinking, so I think as we go forward with the election it’s going to be even more and more important.”
Just recently meeting the queen of social media herself, Kim Kardashian, saying she enjoyed meeting her, “You know I just met her for the first time, she came to one of my fundraisers in Los Angeles and I really enjoyed meeting her, I really found her to be warm and very personable, she had a nice way of introducing her husband, as if I didn’t know who he was, right, and I enjoy seeing her with her daughter. So I think all of us in our own ways can be inspirational or aspirational for people.. and I certainly think many people see her as someone who gets up every day and tries to figure out how to make that day successful.”
Joking around when asked if she had any advice for Kanye since announcing at the VMA’s that he’s running for President in 2020, “Well, if I’m going for my second term to wait four years, but if I’m not, to be sure he has comfortable shoes because there’s a lot of walking involved.”
Mrs. Clinton saying she has thought of potential running mates, even considered her husband, former President Bill Clinton, “He would be good, but he’s not eligible, under the Constitution he has served his two terms and I think the argument would be as Vice President it would not be possible for him to ever succeed to the position, at least that’s what I’ve been told…it has crossed my mind.”
Also on her mind, how beneficial and inspiring it would be for women like her own granddaughter, Charlotte to see a female as President of the United States, “I think it means that one of the last barriers to imagination, aspiration, is gone, not just for little girls, but for little boys too because I think it’s important that every child in our country has the feeling that he or she could grow up to be President, or be you, or do whatever they wanted to.” She continued, “If you break that glass ceiling for girls and you have a woman in the White House it sends a great message here at home and around the world.”
