The Baltimore region’s per capita personal income increased more than 5 percent in 2007 to $45,208, according to data released Thursday by the Bureau of Economic Analysis.
The region’s 2007 per capita personal income ranked 28th in the nation, ahead of the U.S. average of $38,362.
While the U.S. average grew at a slower rate in 2007 (5.2 percent) than 2006 (5.6 percent), Baltimore’s growth rate held steady at 5.1 percent.
The region’s per capita personal income was $43,026 in 2006 and $40,933 in 2005, according to the BEA.
Personal income growth slowed in 280 metro areas, increased in 144 and was unchanged in 11.
