Singer Janelle Monae tells ‘every American’ who supported Trump to ‘burnnnnnnnnnn’

Actress and singer Janelle Monae called for “every American citizen” who voted for President Trump to burn in a now-deleted tweet Wednesday.

“F— Donald Tromp [sic] and every American citizen, celebrity, white woman, black man, ETC who supported him burnnnnnnnnnn,” Monae tweeted, accompanied by a picture of herself raising a middle finger to the camera.

“Emotions are running HiGH,” Monae tweeted later. “Placing blame and anger are easy traps to fall into. Please don’t fall for the bait and the hate. DON’T DO IT. Let’s refocus the energy.”

Monae is one of many celebrities to express anger toward Trump before, during, and after Tuesday’s presidential election and has been a vocal critic of the president in the past.

Over 69 million people voted for Trump in an election that still does not have a declared winner as of midday Friday.

The president released a statement Friday morning, saying he plans to contest the election results in several battleground states, including Georgia, Pennsylvania, Nevada, and Arizona.

“This election is not over,” Trump campaign general counsel Matthew Morgan said in a statement. “The false projection of Joe Biden as the winner is based on results in four states that are far from final.”
