Late Night host Seth Meyers announced he tested positive for COVID-19 and that the remaining episodes of the show this week have been canceled.
“The bad news is, I tested positive for COVID (thanks, 2022!) the good news is, I feel fine (thanks vaccines and booster!) We are canceling the rest of the shows this week, so tune in next Monday to see what cool location we will try and pass off as a studio!!!” Meyers tweeted.

Meyers’s announcement comes only one day after Tonight Show host Jimmy Fallon revealed on Instagram that he had tested positive for COVID-19 last month during his show’s holiday break. He noted that his show schedule would not be altered by his diagnosis.

“Hey guys, on the first day of our holiday break I tested positive for Covid,” Fallon wrote. “I was vaccinated and boostered which made me lucky enough to only have mild symptoms. Thank you to the doctors and nurses who work so hard around the clock to get everyone vaxxed. Thank you to NBC for taking the testing protocols so seriously and doing a great job.”
Fallon joked about the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s inconsistent recommendations on his show Tuesday.
“The CDC said that after you’ve gotten your second dose of Pfizer, you can get the booster five months later instead of six. Honestly, right now the CDC’s slogan should just be: ‘We have no idea,'” Fallon said. “Seriously, at this point, you’re better off waiting a month to hear what the groundhog has to say.”
The Late Show host Stephen Colbert also poked fun at COVID-19 on his show, mocking the news of the United States reaching more than 1 million daily COVID-19 cases.
“Have you been tested? Because yesterday, the United States reported over 1 million COVID cases,” Colbert told his audience Tuesday.
“Before you all freak out, the number is that large because of delayed reporting over the holiday weekend. See? It’s not so bad. It’s like hearing an exterminator say, ‘Don’t worry, 1,000 rats didn’t move into your breakfast nook. It was one rat who gave birth over the weekend to 1,000 rats,'” he continued.
Colbert also jabbed at President Joe Biden for a blunder he made while addressing the nation regarding his COVID-19 agenda.
“There is a lot of reason to be hopeful in 2020,” Biden said in the Tuesday address.

Colbert mocked the president for apparently not knowing what year it was, saying, “A bit of a glitch there. Nothing to worry about. Happens with my iPhone all the time.”
