Here are the 10 children Musk fathered with three women

Tesla CEO Elon Musk is a father to 10 children, a feat he says will “help the underpopulation crisis.”

It was revealed Wednesday that the billionaire, who has previously expressed concern about declining birthrates, had a pair of twins with an executive at one of his many startups, bringing the total number of children he has had to nine. On Thursday, Musk wrote on social media he was doing his best “to help the underpopulation crisis” and wished for others to “have big families” while congratulating those who already do.

Here are the children who comprise Musk’s family.

Nevada Alexander Musk

Musk’s first son with wife Justine Wilson was born in 2002 but died 10 weeks later of sudden infant death syndrome, or SIDS, according to Page Six.

Griffin and Vivian (formerly Xavier) Musk

The couple relied on in vitro fertilization after losing their first child. In April 2004, Wilson gave birth to twins Griffin and Xavier Musk, who are 18 years old.

In April, Xavier Musk filed court documents in Santa Monica, California, that stated: “I no longer live with or wish to be related to my biological father in any way, shape or form.” The court petition, which was approved, indicated a desire to change genders from male to female under the name of Vivian Jenna Wilson.

Kai, Saxon, and Damian Musk

Wilson and Musk had triplets Kai, Saxon, and Damian through IVF in January 2006. They are now 16 years old.

X AE A-XII Musk

After his divorce from Wilson, who said she felt more like an “employee” than a “wife,” was finalized in 2008, Musk twice married actress Talulah Riley and had a brief relationship with actress Amber Heard.

The billionaire then began dating musician Grimes in April 2018, and in January 2020, she revealed she was pregnant with the couple’s first child, a son born in May 2020. The boy was originally named X Æ A-12, but “Æ” and “12” violated California law for not being part of the English alphabet, forcing Musk and Grimes to change his name.

Exa Dark Sideræl Musk

Musk’s first daughter with Grimes, whose birth was announced in March, was given the nickname “Y” after their other child was called “X.” Musk and Grimes welcomed Exa via surrogacy in December 2021.

Twins whose names aren’t known

Musk quietly had a pair of twins with Shivon Zilis, the director of operations at Musk’s brain-computer interface startup Neuralink, in November 2021. The couple filed a petition to change the 8-month-old twins’ names so they could “have their father’s last name and contain their mother’s last name as part of their middle name,” according to court documents reviewed by Insider. The order was approved by a judge in Austin, Texas, in May.

The names of the children were withheld from the documents for privacy reasons.

Without commenting on reports about the previously unknown twins, Musk continued to allude to the importance of repopulation efforts on Thursday, joking Tesla should develop “a highly configurable Robovan” and noting Mars has a population of zero people.
