LucasArts and Lego have teamed up yet again to bring their third installment of the “Star Wars” universe to your favorite console. While the first two games followed the two film trilogies, this new game takes its story from the popular “Clone Wars” animated show.
Take control of blocky versions of Anakin Skywalker, Obi-Wan Kenobi and tons of other characters as you battle through wave after wave of droids. Along the way, you’ll hunt down the evil cyborg General Grievous and do battle with Sith minions Count Dooku and Asajj Ventress.
Like all previous Lego games, the adventure is a little tough to understand if you don’t already know the story line, as there is no dialogue. The game is also packed with Easter eggs for the persistent gamer who likes completing everything. Every mission has multiple mini-challenges to discover and complete for a chance to unlock even more characters. All these newly unlocked characters can be used to replay finished levels to try unlocking even more secrets.

But while these “Star Wars” games continually have you going, “Oh, yeah, I remember that,” there’s not much too them as far as actual gameplay is concerned. It’s mostly just run around spamming the attack button and collecting Lego coins. If you’re not interested in trying to unlock everything, it may get a bit boring.
Another thing that could stress out many gamers is the confusing designs of certain challenges. Sometimes it’s not readily apparent where to go next or how to complete the task. In one case players must smash a bunch of blocks and then rebuild them as a canon. The problem is that there are so many baddies on the screen that players can’t see the icon denoting that something can be built.
For huge “Star Wars” fans, it’s another must-buy. Otherwise, the game is mostly a one-note song.
