The Maryland Senate is moving forward with a bill that would give in-state tuition to illegal immigrants and cost taxpayers more than $778 million by 2014, according to an indpendent fiscal analysis.
The Senate will take up the bill next week and likely begin debating it on Wednesday, Senate President Thomas V. Mike Miller Jr. said Friday.
The bill resembles the federal DREAM Act, which failed in the U.S. Senate in December.
