A backpack with multiple bombs was discovered Sunday night near a train station in Elizabeth, N.J., the FBI reported.
The city Mayor Chris Bollwage said the bag had up to five devices and was found in a trash can about 500 feet from a train trestle by two men who alerted the police, according to CNN.
One of the pipe bomb devices detonated when bomb technicians sent robots to disarm them, but no one was injured, officials said. Though train service resumed Monday morning after New Jersey Transit stopped service upon finding the dangerous devices, Amtrak warned there will be extensive delays

The remaining four bombs will be transferred to a safe location before being taken to the FBI laboratory in Quantico, Va.
Though the New Jersey city is about 16 miles southwest of New York City, there is no evidence to suggest that this recent development is connected to this weekend’s attack in New York’s most populous city.
