ELIZABETHTOWN, N.Y. (AP) — New York state transportation officials say a short stretch of Route 9 in the Adirondacks has been closed because of a failing culvert.

The Department of Transportation says Thursday that a section of the road is closed in the hamlet of New Russia in the Essex County town of Elizabethtown, 110 miles north of Albany.
