Trump: Cruz is dependent on Kasich

Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump tore into rival Ted Cruz on Monday night, claiming the Texas senator’s alliance with Ohio Gov. John Kasich is his last-ditch attempt to have a shot at the nomination.

“So I’ve been in this deal for 10 months,” Trump told thousands of voters at his final campaign rally ahead of the Acela primary in Wilkes-Barre, Pa.

“You had Lyin’ Ted announce that he can’t win by himself. He cannot do it,” the New York billionaire told the rambunctious crowd. “You know he’s a choker. So he said let me form a partnership, which I call … collusion.”

Cruz and Kasich announced an unusual partnership late Sunday afternoon, in which both candidates plan to campaign in separate states to allow each other to compete against Trump one-on-one in Indiana, New Mexico and Oregon.

Trump continued, “Here’s a guy who couldn’t fight by himself. Look he’s Lyin’ Ted. Lyin’ Ted.”

“Isn’t it sad that two grown politicians have to collude against one person who’s only been a politician for 10 months,” he added, prompting the massive crowd to chant “Lyin’ Ted. Lyin’ Ted.”

Trump will compete against Cruz and Kasich in five northeastern states on Tuesday, before heading to Indiana on Wednesday for a campaign rally with retired Indiana University basketball coach Bob Knight.
