Obama, Kaine have their chat

The waiting game (this one, at least) is over: President Obama chatted by phone Wednesday with Democratic National Committee Chairman Tim Kaine regarding the race to replace Sen Jim Webb, D-Va., a DNC official confirmed.

All eyes in the Democratic universe immediately fixed on Kaine, a former Virginia governor, after Webb announced he would not run for re-election in 2012.

Kaine has been noncommittal about running for the seat, but a push from the president — who hand-picked Kaine to run the DNC — would certainly do wonders in changing his mind.
