Twitter suspends former KKK leader’s account

Former Ku Klux Klan leader David Duke’s Twitter account was temporarily suspended on Monday, according to the social media site.

Duke’s Twitter page was inaccessible Monday afternoon during the suspension, the reason for which was not immediately clear. A message was left with Twitter asking why Duke’s account was suspended.

Duke has used the social media platform as a way to get out his message during the 2016 Louisiana Senate campaign and now often tweets praise of President Trump. Trump has disavowed Duke’s support.

Following the election, Duke called Trump’s win a victory for the South and tweeted a photo of people waving the Confederate battle flag in celebration.
