N.Y. man arrested on train with cocaine-filled VCR
D.C. police arrested a New York man in Union Station Saturday after they found nearly $200,000 worth of cocaine hidden in his Amtrak sleeper compartment this weekend, according to court documents.
Amtrak police alerted D.C. detectives that an individual was traveling on a train from New York to Atlanta with a suspicious package.
Inside the compartment where the man was staying, police found a bag containing a VCR with 2 kilograms of cocaine inside the tape slot, police said. – Scott McCabe
Suspects sought in two Montgomery stabbings
Three suspects are wanted byMontgomery County police in connection with two unrelated stabbings that occurred in Germantown and Bethesda.
The first stabbing occurred around 9:30 a.m. Tuesday morning at Lotte Plaza in Germantown where police say a store supervisor engaged in a verbal dispute with a store employee. The dispute escalated and the employee stabbed the supervisor with a knife in the chest, hands and head. The employee, Gaithersburg resident Oscar Omar Flores, 26, then fled the store.
Police said the Bethesda stabbing occurred near a Metro bus stop located at Rockledge Drive and Westlake Terrace around 1 p.m. Tuesday. Two men pulled up in a car, jumped out and stabbed the victim.

Teens questioned in theft of car idling to warm up
A man who warmed his car outside with the keys in the ignition earlyThursday morning had it stolen in Dale City, Prince William County police reported Monday.
The Toyota Camry was discovered Friday outside Potomac Mills Mall in Woodbridge. Six teens were questioned; four face various charges, according to a police report. – Dan Genz
