Vermont GOP governor says he ‘won’t be voting for President Trump’

Republican Vermont Gov. Phil Scott isn’t sure who he is voting for in November, but it definitely won’t be President Trump.

Scott, who didn’t vote for Trump in 2016, said he was “quite adamant in not supporting the president” before confirming that he “won’t be voting for President Trump” while addressing reporters at a COVID-oriented press conference on Friday.

Scott, who backed Trump’s 2020 primary challenger, former Massachusetts Gov. William Weld, said he is considering voting for Democratic nominee Joe Biden.

“I have not decided at this point whether to cast a vote for former Vice President Biden,” Scott said. “But it’s something that I would consider. I just haven’t made that decision at this point.”

Scott joins other former Republicans such as John Kasich and Charlie Dent in his refusal to back the 2020 GOP ticket.
