A naked man who found himself trapped inside a theater restroom wall for several days was rescued by firefighters in New York.
Firefighters responded Friday to a report that there was a person trapped behind a wall at the Landmark Theatre, according to a statement from the Syracuse Fire Department. Upon investigating, the firefighters discovered “an adult male” trapped inside the bathroom wall.
“Theatre employees called 911 after hearing someone banging on the wall and yelling for help,” the statement from the department said. “It is believed that the person, an adult male, entered the theatre 2-3 days ago.”

Mike Intaglietta, the executive director of the Landmark Theatre, told Syracuse News that a 39-year-old male had been spotted “wandering” throughout the theater earlier in the week.
“Upon arrival, members of Rescue Company 1 drilled a hole in the wall and utilized a fiber-optic camera to determine his exact location and how to best extricate him,” the department’s statement continued. “Firefighters were then able to free the individual after carefully cutting through several layers of drywall and structural clay tile.”
Syracuse Fire Deputy Chief John Kane told the outlet the man had managed to get himself into a crawl space, eventually falling into a space between the restroom wall and getting himself trapped.
