Police: Nightclub robbery suspect is still at large

A shootout left one would-be robber dead and another wounded after two off-duty Baltimore police officers opened fire.

But city police say they have not found 34-year-old David Robinson, the alleged getaway driver in the attempted robbery of Fantasies Nightclub on April 5.

Police describe Robinson as about 5 feet, 8 inches tall and about 165 pounds. They say he may drive a black or dark gray four-door Audi with Maryland tags 2CFR05.

Police said Robinson is believed to have since committed other armed robberies and is considered “armed and extremely dangerous.”

At about 2 a.m., two men armed with a shotgun and a semi-automatic handgun entered the all-nude adult club at 5520 Pennington Ave., and one fired a shot in the air before announcing a robbery, police said.

Two officers, who had finished a shift at midnight and visited the club as patrons in plainclothes, returned fire with their service weapons, according to police.

One gunman was pronounced dead at the scene, while the other was taken to University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center with gunshot wounds to the hand and arm. The injured gunman had wore body armor, police said.

Detectives ask anyone with knowledge of Robinson?s whereabouts to call 443-829-6109.
