The Jan. 6 committee is delaying the publication of its final report by a day after originally teasing a Wednesday release.
The panel made public the executive summary on Monday following its final public meeting, but the bulk of the report, as well as its four appendices, remain unpublished.
The committee sent out updated guidance Wednesday afternoon.
“The Select Committee now anticipates its final report will be filed and released tomorrow. The release of additional Select Committee records is possible today,” the guidance said.
The committee did not give a reason for the delay, but lawmakers have had a hectic day on Capitol Hill with an omnibus budget bill still in the works and a joint address to Congress planned from Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
The full report exceeds 800 pages, and the four appendices being made public for the first time Thursday will focus on the Capitol’s security, the National Guard’s slow deployment, how foreign adversaries used former President Donald Trump’s election claims to their advantage, and the financial backing of the “Stop the Steal” rally that devolved into the riot.
