Trump escaping NYC this weekend for New Jersey

After being holed up in his skyscraper mansion for most of the week, President-elect Trump plans to spend this weekend in Bedminster, N.J.

Trump will stay at his Trump National Golf Club, Trump spokeswoman Stephanie Grisham said. Over the weekend, he is expected to meet with 2012 GOP presidential nominee Mitt Romney, who Trump sparred with throughout the campaign. The former Massachusetts governor is under consideration for secretary of state or possibly other cabinet positions, according to a Fox News report.

Trump has not made any public appearances this week, instead meeting with various people as his transition team works to fill 4,000 administration jobs. The incoming president, however, was spotted Tuesday night when he and his family snuck out of Trump Tower — unbeknownst to the press camped out in his lobby — and had dinner at a Manhattan steakhouse.
