The 3-minute interview: Will Jerro

From turning a triple lutz to grilling a perfect steak, Virginia Web site MonkeySee.com offers 7,000 short how-to videos using experts from the Washington region and around the world. Local pumpkin seed expert Will Jerro is one of the site’s founders.

What’s your favorite video on the site?

How to roast pumpkin seeds is absolutely phenomenal. (Disclaimer: It’s Jerro’s video.)

Any new videos?

You know all the hysteria over the new “Grand Theft Auto 4“? We have a new video about how to play it and all kinds of tips for how to win it.

Which videos are most viewed?

We have a guy who shows how to solve a Rubik’s Cube, and a lot of the cooking ones are really popular, like how to grill with the executive chef from Morton’s Steakhouse, and how to make a pizza with D.C.’s very own Ruth Gresser of Pizza Paradiso.

Have any videos been deemed inappropriate?

We accept some user-generated content, and someone submitted one called “[Expletive] in the Kitchen.” It was a woman very scantily clad, cooking in her kitchen. It probably would’ve been better for an adult-content site.

Any oddball videos that have surprised you?

There’s a fascinating series on how to prepare for prison — we produced it back when some high-flying executive was sent to jail, and we found an expert who consults with high-profile people heading to prison. While I hope I never have to use it, it’s just fascinating.

If you could get any expert whom you don’t already have, who would it be?

I’m a sports junkie, so it would be awesome to have a series with the Redskins’ coaching staff, or have the quarterback show the proper way to throw a football, stuff like that.
