Ginsburg, who was a steadfast tenant of the court’s liberal bloc, died Friday at the age of 87 from complications with metastatic pancreatic cancer. Since her death, there has been an outpouring of tributes to the late justice.
President Trump appeared genuinely shocked about Ginsburg’s death when speaking to reporters after a campaign rally in Minnesota on Friday night.
“She just died? I didn’t know that,” Trump said after his event. “She led an amazing life. What else can you say? Whether you agree or not […] she led an amazing life.”
Trump has indicated that he intends to nominate a replacement for Ginsburg prior to the election.
