MULBERRY, Fla. (AP) — Authorities have arrested six Florida residents they say used butane gas to extract THC from marijuana to create a potent cannabis wax.
Polk County Sheriff’s detectives charged the Mulberry residents with multiple drug offenses Friday following an undercover investigation. Authorities say the suspects used butane gas to extract THC from the plant in a dangerous process that can result in explosions and serious injuries.
Authorities also said the cannabis wax or butter is very potent and can cause users to lose consciousness.
All six suspects were booked into the Polk County Jail without incident.
