House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy plans to support Donald Trump for president despite dissension over the presumptive nominee among Republican House leadership.
A political reporter tweeted late Monday that McCarthy signed up as a Trump delegate ahead of California’s June 7 primary.

The list likely came from the state’s Republican Party, but its origination could not be confirmed.
If true, McCarthy’s backing of the New York businessman indicates a rift within the party’s congressional leaders after House Speaker Paul Ryan said last week he was not ready to support Trump as the nominee.
Reps. Duncan Hunter and Darrel Issa are also slated to be Trump delegates from California

Other delegates supporting Trump include the wealthiest member of Congress, Rep. Darrell Issa, and Peter Thiel, a former backer of Ron Paul’s 2012 presidential super PAC.
Peter Thiel has signed up as a Trump delegate from San Francisco. Thiel was one of the biggest financiers of Ron Paul’s super PAC in 2012.
