Airman under investigation after Facebook rant about ‘subordinates that are black females’

An Air Force sergeant is under investigation following a profanity-laced Facebook rant about her “black female” subordinates that went viral over the weekend, according to a report Tuesday.

Tech. Sgt. Geraldine Lovely is stationed at the Nellis Air Force Base in Las Vegas, but officials at the base told the New York Daily News that Lovely was “removed from her supervisory role” after the footage of her racially insensitive rant surfaced over the weekend.

“Why is it that every time I encounter… my subordinates that are black females, they have a giant fucking attitude?” Lovely said in the video. “Every time I fucking talk to them, it’s like I’m just some fucking stupid-ass girl that doesn’t even deserve to be talked to as a person.”

Although Lovely removed the video from her Facebook page, a second version accumulated over 1.2 million views.

The Las Vegas base told the Daily News that an investigation is underway after Lovely’s remarks.

“While the actions of this individual are inappropriate and unacceptable, we are using this unfortunate situation to continue a dialogue with our Airmen about the topic of good order and discipline,” base officials said in a statement obtained by the publication.
