Bill Maher calls Elizabeth Warren ‘Pocahontas’ to her face

It wasn’t the first time Democratic Sen. Elizabeth Warren has been called as “Pocahontas,” but on Friday night, liberal political comedian Bill Maher said it to her face.

It happened during an exchange on Maher’s HBO show “Real Time,” when Maher began exploring why the president’s supporters, who are upset with establishment politics, back him instead of progressives like Warren when his administration just introduced a tax plan Maher says benefits only the rich.

“Actually I am going to push back,” Warren countered.

Maher replied: “His fans are not with you.”

“Hold on,” Warren with a hand in the air.

“They don’t like you, Pocahontas,” said with a smile and a laugh from the audience. Warren mere blinked a couple times, didn’t take the bait, and continued on about the progressive message.

Warren’s critics like to use the “Pocahontas” nickname to mock the Massachusetts senator for claiming she has Native American ancestry.

Trump used that nickname as recently as Friday, at the National Rifle Association’s annual meeting.

“I have a feeling that in the next election, you’re going to be swamped with candidates but you’re not going to be wasting your time,” Trump said. “You’ll have plenty of those Democrats coming over and you’ll say, ‘no, sir, no, ma’am.’ It may be Pocahontas, remember that? And she is not big for the NRA, that I can tell you.”
