Clinton campaign manager ‘really happy’ with relationship with media

Hillary Clinton’s campaign manager Robby Mook said the campaign is “really happy” with its relationship with the media, before MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” crew called him out for failing to answer basic foreign policy questions.

“We are really happy with our relationship with the press,” Mook said on the show Wednesday in an interview where he argued Donald Trump is comparatively less open with the public than Clinton.

Mook repeatedly deflected questions about the Democratic presidential candidate’s positions on Syria, including what she would do to help war-stricken Aleppo after the United Nations canceled convoys carrying lifesaving supplies to the city after a deadly attack Monday night.

Host Joe Scarborough compared the campaigner to the Libertarian presidential nominee who caused controversy after failing to identify the stricken Syrian city on the show earlier this month.

“We may be tip-toeing into Gary Johnson territory here if you don’t know the answer to that basic of a question.”

“I’m not being difficult,” responded Mook, stating that Clinton herself can respond to such “new policy questions.”

“Robby, aren’t you here representing her point of view?,” responded Scarborough, before Mook pointed fingers at Trump for failing to release a comprehensive policy plan like the former secretary of state.

Asked if Clinton is still supporting no-fly zones over Syria, Mook said, “I’m going to let her statements speak for themselves.”

“Robby, aren’t you here representing her point of view?,” asked cohost Willie Geist. “You’ve been saying that Donald Trump won’t tell us what the policy is but here you are not telling us what the policy is.”

After completing the interview, Scarborough said, “I don’t understand that. I’m completely flummoxed by that interview. It’s better not to come on.”
