A 12-foot python was found Thursday after her escape at the largest mall in Louisiana.
Cara, a yellow and white Burmese python who lives in the Blue Zoo Aquarium at Baton Rouge’s Mall of Louisiana, escaped from her enclosure on Tuesday. She was found in a crawl space.
Veterinarians at the Louisiana State University School of Veterinary Medicine checked her, and she was discharged the same day.

KINDERGARTEN WILL BE REQUIRED IN LOUISIANA AFTER EDWARDS SIGNS LEGISLATION
Pythons kill their prey, most mammals, by wrapping around their bodies and squeezing them until they suffocate. After the prey is dead, they swallow their kill whole. An Indiana woman was found dead in 2019 with an 8-foot python wrapped around her neck.

Cara’s disappearance resulted in the mall’s closure on Tuesday. On Wednesday, the mall reopened while the Blue Zoo stayed closed for the search.
