Restaurateur Roberto Donna has pleaded guilty to embezzlement charges, The Washington Examiner has learned.
Arlington County prosecutors announced the plea Thursday morning.
Donna is the man behind several Washington-area restaurants, including the now-closed Italian restaurant Galileo, which Wine Spectator called one of the “10 best Italian restaurants in America.”
He was named Chef of the Year in 1990 and 2004 by the Restaurant Association of Metropolitan Washington and won the James Beard Award for Best Chef in the Mid-Atlantic Region in 1996.
