A video resurfaced this week of Georgia Democratic Senate candidate Raphael Warnock calling on people in the United States to “repent” for their support of President Trump and their “worship of whiteness.”
“If it is true that a man who has dominated the news and poisoned the discussion for months needs to repent, then it is doubly true that a nation that can produce such a man and make his vitriol go viral needs to repent,” Warnock said during an address to Atlanta’s Candler School of Theology at Emory University in 2016. “No matter what happens next month, more than a third of the nation that would go along with this is reason to be afraid. America needs to repent for its worship of whiteness, on full display this season.”
The audience can be heard applauding and yelling encouragement multiple times during the clip.
“WOW,” National Republican Senatorial Committee press secretary Nate Brand tweeted. “Democrat Raphael Warnock says Republican voters must ‘repent’ for supporting Trump. This comes as the other Georgia Democrat Ossoff wants to cancel conservatives, yelling that they should ‘never show their faces again.'”

“Despite a phony call for unity, Warnock and Ossoff are two of the most divisive candidates to ever seek the U.S. Senate,” Brand told the Washington Examiner. “For them, it is not about serving Georgia, but rather advancing the radical socialist agenda of Pelosi and Schumer while silencing all opposition.”
Warnock’s campaign did not immediately respond to a request for comment from the Washington Examiner.
Warnock, a pastor at Ebenezer Baptist Church in Atlanta, will face off against Republican Sen. Kelly Loeffler in January in a pivotal runoff race that will play a key role in determining who controls the Senate going forward.
The race is one of two runoff Senate races in Georgia, along with the race between Sen. David Perdue and challenger Jon Ossoff.
