LAKE CHARLES, La. (AP) — The Chennault International Airport Authority has awarded a contract for construction of the Hangar H project.
The hangar should be completed by June 2014 and is expected to generate about 500 permanent jobs, airport executive director Randy Robb tells The American Press (http://bit.ly/cseYHv).
The contract was awarded to Alfred Palma LLC for about $10.3 million.
The new hangar, with 112,000 square feet of hangar space and 6,000 square feet of office space, will support the growth of Aeroframe Services and Northrop Grumman, Robb said.
Its overall development cost is estimated at $21 million.
