Michael Cohen, President Trump’s ex-personal lawyer and fixer, hopes former first lady Michelle Obama will help bring the country together as she embarks on a press tour to promote her memoir, “Becoming.”
“Watching Becoming @MichelleObama on #abc2020 and pray that her words bring back unity to our country,” Cohen tweeted late Sunday, referring to an interview Obama gave to ABC News prior to her tell-all’s release this week.

“Becoming,” Obama’s second book, will be launched worldwide on Nov. 13 as part of a $60 million deal she signed with husband, former President Barack Obama.

In an excerpt, Obama questions why so many women voters in 2016 rejected ex-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, “an exceptionally qualified female candidate,” and instead chose to elect President Trump, “a misogynist.”
“Being the commander in chief is a hard job,” Michelle Obama told ABC News. “And you need to have discipline, and you need to read, and you need to be knowledgeable. You need to know history, you need to be careful with your words. But voters make those decisions. And once the voters have spoken, you know, we live with what we live with.”
Cohen has rejoined the Democratic Party after serving as a Republican National Committee deputy finance chairman early in Trump’s presidency. He was vocal in his defense of Trump during the 2016 campaign, but distanced himself ahead of pleading guilty in August to a New York federal court to a range of charges; two are related to his efforts to silence women claiming to have had extramarital affairs with Trump before the election.
Cohen is expected to be sentenced in December.
