Update: 9:55 a.m.: Metro police are searching for four men who they believe robbed, carjacked and shot a woman inside the Largo Town Center parking garage Wednesday morning.
The incident happened at 7:15 a.m. inside the garage at the Prince George’s County Metro stop, said Metro spokesman Dan Stessel. It started out as an armed robbery but then progressed into a carjacking.
A woman was shot and a man was struck on the head, possibly with a gun, Stessel said. Both were taken to a local hospital with injuries that did not appear to be life threatening.
Police have recovered the stolen vehicle off Metro’s property and were processing evidence from it, Stessel said.
But they are still looking for the suspects and their getaway vehicle. Detailed descriptions of the men and the car were not available, he said.
Metro asks anyone with information about the case to call 202-962-2121.
In the meantime, Stessel said, police have stepped up patrols at the Largo parking garage and other facilities.

One person was shot during a robbery attempt at the Largo Town Center parking garage early Wednesday morning, according to Metro.
The attack happened around 7:20 a.m., said Metro spokeswoman Cathy Asato. One person was transported to a local hospital with injuries that did not appear to be life threatening, she said. No further details about the robbery were available, she said, as the case was still under investigation.
No Metrorail service was disrupted. The garage remained open except for the top level, which Asato said was closed for the investigation.
The Largo garage was also the site of a carjacking and two rapes last year. And the train station ranked ninth in the top 10 most dangerous Metro stations last year.
