Derek Hunter explains in the Daily Caller why, despite Bernie Sanders winning more of the popular vote, Hillary Clinton leaves New Hampshire with more delegates. In addition to New Hampshire’s 24 delegates distributed to candidates according to the percentage of the popular vote they win, it also has 8 superdelegates.
“But under Democratic National Committee rules, New Hampshire also has 8 ‘superdelegates,’ party officials who are free to commit to whomever they like, regardless of how their state votes. Their votes count the same as delegates won through the primary.”
