Reality television star and businesswoman Kim Kardashian West said Alice Johnson, the woman whose drug-related sentence was commuted by President Trump last week, was “everything and more than I ever thought” after the two met for the first time.
“Come on, you guys just, I mean you met a few minutes ago, but y’all are already, look at you two, you guys are connected,” NBC News’ Hoda Kotb said in an interview with the two that is set to air on Thursday morning.
“I love this woman,” Kardashian West said.
“I love this lady,” Johnson added.
“I mean I already knew just by talking to you on the phone and just seeing you in videos, but I mean you are everything and more than I ever thought,” Kardashian West continued.
Later, Kotb noted that the two continued to hug and predicted they would have a lasting connection.
“Y’all haven’t stopped hugging, I did notice that. I think that you guys are going to be connected for a long time,” Kotb said.
Johnson has been behind bars for nearly 22 years and was sentenced to life in prison following her conviction for a nonviolent drug offense. Kardashian West urged for her commutation, and Trump issued an order to commute her life sentence.

“Ms. Johnson has accepted responsibility for her past behavior and has been a model prisoner over the past two decades,” the White House said in a statement. “Despite receiving a life sentence, Alice worked hard to rehabilitate herself in prison, and act as a mentor to her fellow inmates.”
