The owner of a Miami, Florida, security firm is among the individuals who were arrested by federal authorities Tuesday as part of the investigation into the 2021 assassination of Haitian President Jovenel Moise.
Antonio Intriago, owner of CTU Security, has been charged with supporting a conspiracy to kidnap or kill the late Haitian president, per Miami Herald reporter Jacqueline Charles.

The others arrested included Arcangel Pretel Ortiz, operator at CTU Federal Academy LLC, and Walter Veintemilla, head of Capital Lending Group. Ortiz and Veintemilla were also charged with supporting a conspiracy to kidnap or kill Moise.
The individuals arrested are expected to appear in court Tuesday afternoon. Intriago’s lawyer told the New York Times his client intends to plead not guilty.
“I can confirm that Intriago was arrested this morning and has been in Miami for the course of the investigation,” Intriago’s lawyer, Joseph Tesmond, told the outlet. “He intends to enter a not guilty plea at his bond hearing this afternoon.”
CTU Security has been accused of hiring the 20 men who stormed the residence of Moise the night he was killed, while Veintemilla is accused of lending the $172,000 to CTU Security to help pay for their operations in Haiti.

The latest arrests come after four other suspects were transferred to the U.S. last month, adding to the other three who were already in U.S. custody and have been charged in connection with the assassination.
Moise was assassinated on July 7, 2021, in his home in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, after suspects breached the residence and shot him while allegedly claiming to be employees of the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration. Moise’s wife, Martine Moise, was also hospitalized with injuries from the incident but has recovered.
