President Trump will host NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg at the White House on Wednesday, just months after calling the Western military alliance “obsolete.”
White House press secretary Sean Spicer confirmed the upcoming visit during Monday’s daily briefing.
Stoltenberg and Trump have expressed similar opinions about the need for NATO’s European members to increase their financial contributions to the alliance.
Their meeting comes one month before Trump will travel to Brussels in May for a gathering of NATO leaders.
