The City Council might be the least of Herb Miller’s problems. The Nationals’ owners are furious.
“There are no guarantees regarding the impact on the timing and cost of the ballpark,” Team President Stan Kasten said in a statement released Friday.
“The requisite design and use restrictions are violated in multiple ways. There are neither firm developer or financing commitments, nor feasibility studies.”
Kasten described the Miller plan as “speculative development.” It “has the potential to cause considerable damage,” he said, limiting development of a strong fan base and costing the team and the city millions of dollars.
