Police find stolen Audi involved in Metro carjackings

Police have found the stolen Audi station wagon that was involved in two carjackings at Metro parking facilities.

But police are still looking for the four suspects in the cases.

The Audi was stolen at 9:30 a.m. May 20 from the parking lot at the New Carrollton station during a robbery. A man in his 50s suffered minor injuries when the men then stole his 2004 Audi wagon.

That wagon was believed to have been used in another carjacking and robbery at the Largo Town Center parking garage on May 25. A 21-year-old woman was shot in the stomach area and her 54-year-old father was clobbered over the head.

Their car, an orange Camaro, was found later that day. Both have been released from the hospital, Metro spokesman Dan Stessel said.

The 2004 Audi station wagon was found midday Wednesday in the District, Stessel said. Police were gathering evidence from it.

Police still ask anyone with information about the cases or the four attackers to call Metro Transit Police at 202-962-2121.
