Boeing on Thursday announced “fewer than 200” layoffs at a facility in South Carolina, which President Trump touted just months ago as a manufacturing success.
Trump visited the airplane manufacturer’s North Charleston campus, which builds 787 Dreamliners, in February.
The layoffs are part of the company’s effort to reduce costs in its commercial airplane division, according to the Post and Courier. Boeing faces competition from French manufacturer Airbus.
